You know, I wish that I could be a wizard… A magical wizard that can instantly teach you how to get ripped abs – FAST.

I wish that I had this magical wand (and that I could ride in on a white sparkly unicorn), and when I wave that wand, all of my clients could have perfect bodies.

Anything they want… I can grant it with the flick of my wrist!

The unfortunate reality is that I’m not…

But what I AM, is damn good at what I do as an online coach and trainer.

And one of the things that I think my clients have come to appreciate about me is my brutal honesty.

And it’s not that I’m mean or anything, I simply tell it like it is… No smoke up your azz, no sugar coating it, no gimmicks or garbage.

So today, I want to have a tough talk with YOU. And it’s about this whole thing of getting “six-pack abs”. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I get asked about how to get ripped abs. What’s the secret?

How have I done it, and how have my clients done the same?

Well, being that my mission is all about educating you as best I can with all things training and nutrition…

Let’s take a closer look at the truth behind how to get ripped abs, and exactly what you need to do to make things pop off.

How to Get Ripped Abs – The Diet Stuff

Ready for cliches…

Your abs are made in the kitchen.

This cannot be said enough, however. Here’s the thing, everyone has a six-pack. Including you! Everyone has abs – but they just happened to be covered by an annoying layer of fat. The only way that fat is going to go – by you dieting.

Now, don’t get hooked up in the thought that there’s some special diet to make it happen, or that you have to eat certain foods.

Not at all!

It just simply takes you eating less, and more importantly in a caloric deficit.

Start to lose fat by taking a smart approach to your program (including training), and you’ll soon enough start to see those abs start to show.

Bottom line – there is no magic formula.

How to Get Ripped Abs – The Training Stuff

Let me ask you this…

Do you think there are certain exercises you can do to make those abs magically appear?

Well, I’m sorry to tell you this but… You’re doing ALL of that in vain.

There isn’t a single exercise you can do in the world to spot reduce. And you can do a bazillion and one different crunches, but that still won’t do a damn thing.

The only thing that’s going to get you those ripped abs is by… LOSING FAT!

Now, the good news is that when you do indeed get on top of your diet, and you start to train properly, things will look a whole lot better in your midsection over time.

The thing that does work – training-wise – to make those abs come out is simply consistency.

Following a strength training program that helps you to tone up, and keep (or in some cases build) that precious muscle tissue, while you lose fat, is paramount.

The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism, the better chance you’ll have at achieving that 6 pack glory.

Be sure to be doing both weights AND cardio for best results.

With cardio, doing a mix of steady-state, HIIT training, metabolic conditioning, and intervals is the smartest approach. Keep it mixed, and most importantly, challenging for you.

But at the end of the day…

There is no magical protocol for the abs except…

Consistently training and staying on your plan.

How to Get Ripped Abs – The Other Stuff

Now, I have some bad news…

You can do ALL of the right things, and still not have incredibly ripped abs. Because the TRUTH of the matter is that it takes getting down to pretty lean levels of body fat. And that’s no easy thing to accomplish.

Really, the only way to accomplish that is by making sure you have a sound program to follow – and that you actually stick to that plan with a dedicated focus.

And you have to give it enough time!

Be in it for the long haul. Look, the truth is that the majority of folks reading this have probably never had ripped abs – including you. And I can tell you from experience, it ain’t easy to get them.

But, it’s also not impossible.

You HAVE TO be willing to make the dietary sacrifice to stay disciplined, and not give into temptation – if that goal is important to you.

With a smart approach and a realistic viewpoint on the work ahead, you can achieve anything you want!

Including those washboard abs!
