How I Finally Found My Self Confidence – and You Can Too

Pardon my wrinkled shirt, but I want to have a discussion about confidence…

You know what, true confidence comes from within.

And moreover, doing the work mentally to help you to change your perspective about your life – and yourself IN that life. For the longest time, I really felt uncomfortable with my skin. Never really feeling like I was attractive without make-up. At one point I used to not even wear any, or really do my hair much or anything like that. Honestly, I stopped caring. And I fell victim to my own excuses why I stopped “caring about all that stuff”. Yet, I used to envy women I perceived to be better looking than me, able to walk outside makeup free or minimal at best and still look amazing.

Well, I’ll tell you what… All of that insecurity came from the fact that I never really saw the value and beauty in myself as a woman.

I didn’t cherish it.

I was quick to harshly judge and criticize myself. What did I do to overcome it?

Well… I started to set goals. Personal goals, and create the roadmap to achieving those goals. I started to appreciate myself, with all my flaws, and do the work I needed to change for the better so the light of my heart and soul became the source of my outer beauty.

The DOING/Action parts… Well I started working out in ways that I enjoy that made fitness feel like less of a chore and more of an exploration in self love and care. With my skin… I started to create a routine (just like for my body) that helped me to really clear it up and make it radiant from good skincare.

I share these pics because for the first time, I am able to comfortably go outside virtually makeup free. Enhance my lips a bit. Maybe a little eyeliner and brows. And I feel all the confidence in the world. Honestly, and not faking it til I make it kind of deal. I became the woman I’ve always wanted to be. The one I envied for so long.

But it took a few things…

1. Making the decision that I had to change and be willing to do ALL the work to make it happen.

2. Being willing to INVEST in the tools to help myself to grow, and stop ruminating in my own frustration.

3. Getting back up every single time I fell. Refusing to let circumstances get the best of me.

Am I perfect. Heck no! But… I share this because I want you to know you’re not alone. Even people who you look at as #bodygoals #fitnessgoals or whatever. And if I can glow and level up, honey you BEST believe you can too. Become that best version of yourself…
